HKUST launches its groundbreaking Digital MBA

HKUST campus

Insendi is pleased to announce that the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) will welcome its first cohort of students to their pioneering Digital MBA for Global Leaders programme this February. The DiMBA is a fully online, part-time MBA, offering students the flexibility to undertake their studies whilst balancing other commitments. HKUST’s online offering is the first of its kind among the Financial Times’ top 25 global MBAs in the Asia region.

Digital skills for a digital workplace

The pandemic has highlighted the requirement for business graduates to confidently collaborate in the digital space. Digital leadership and digital teaming skills are deeply embedded and fostered throughout the programme. Self-study modules complement live online discussions, giving students the freedom to move ahead through the course work without waiting for their peers. The Insendi learning experience platform provides students with a high-quality, seamless learning journey, connecting self-study elements with live sessions. Virtual live sessions will be held in HKUST’s brand new virtual classroom, which has been purpose built for the DiMBA programme.

Fully flexible with a global perspective

This two-year programme gives students the freedom to adapt their learning modality to their specific needs and preferences. While students can undertake the course fully online, there are options across electives for students to attend face-to-face, should they wish. Additionally, DiMBA graduates can tap into the benefits accorded traditional MBA graduates at HKUST, including access to various learning and networking opportunities,  as well as the elite 5,000+ alumni network via HKUST MBA’s exclusive virtual alumni hub. There is no distinction made between the award for this programme and the traditional MBA, attesting to its quality and rigour.

HKUST’s commitment to maximising student choice is extended in year two, when learners gain access to additional online modules from a network of partner business schools across the globe. Many of these courses are offered through the FOME Alliance, a consortium of high-quality business schools dedicated to online learning collaboration, of which HKUST is a member. Courses undertaken with partner schools will be fully recognised in meeting the degree requirements and will expose students to different markets and specialisms.

The first cohort will meet on campus in February to undertake a weeklong networking and induction session, before beginning the core modules in March. To find out more, you can access the full DiMBA programme details here.
